RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
POSTDOCTORAL SCIENTIST
Epithelial morphogenesis - Pr. Keith Mostov
|
University of California, San Francisco
|
Oct.-oct.
|
- Led a project on epithelial morphogenesis using D organoid cultures of MDCK cysts, resulting in submitted manuscript; collaborated with teammates on a project resulting in publication and $k grant funding
- Developed and optimized + stable cell lines from vector design, gene delivery and silencing to clonal selection. Analyzed protein trafficking and cell behaviors with fixed and live cell confocal microscopy using fluorescent reporters and immunodetection tools
- Keen interest in learning and disseminating scientific discoveries as evidenced by submission of peer review comments and by helping other labs to implement D cell culture studies
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills, flexibility, and team commitment by leading two collaborative projects to completion while supervising the lab technician, working as a liaison between the lab and UCSF Safety department and managing responsibilities in the postdoc association
GRADUATE RESEARCHER
Pancreatic Cancer - Dr. Juan Iovanna
|
University of Aix-Marseille, France
|
Sept.-Sept.
|
- Orchestrated collaborations with cell biologists, biochemists, biophysicists, and clinicians to investigate the functions of an anti-tumor protein in pancreatic cancer, resulting in peer-reviewed publications
- Characterized the mode-of-action of a protein in pancreatic tumorigenesis using cellular assays (migration, adhesion, proliferation, cell death), identification of protein partners, in vitro and in cellulo protein-protein interactions studies
- Regularly conveyed research results in team meetings, seminars and through written reports or reviews, resulting in awarded fellowships, a young investigator award and a special mention for the clarity of doctoral final work presentation
- Strengthened department efficiency and positive atmosphere by implementing and training peers on new techniques such as BRET and FPLC, by projecting expenses and negotiating lab contracts with suppliers saving $k/year, and organizing lab social activities
