Perform a broad range of standard receiving assignments. Verify shipments by checking shipping documents. Match specific item identification by name, stock number, letter, code, quality, or unit of issue on containers. Count and annotate types and quantities of items and appropriately signs receiving documents. Select and assemble items based on priority, type of material, mode of transportation, destination, and type of transaction. Segregates and moves materials to holding area and verifies item identification on report form. I obtain required signatures on appropriate paperwork before shipping/issuing items. I assist in accomplishing inventories by counting items and properly completing tally listing and other inventory documents. Inventory items which may include the use of formal, informal, item-by-item, or group inventory methods and using manual or automated inventory systems. Store, stack, palletize and/or rotate items considering their use, size, quality, and special handling requirements. I apply material handling techniques in storing items provided for easy retrieval, convenience in handling protection from damage, and ease of movement. Match, check, and compare data on storage instruments with materials to be stored against materials already in storage location. Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment. Insert items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding. Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers. Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Route items to departments. Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Operate automated material handling and identification equipment to include mobile selectors and electromechanical automated equipment such as high-rise automated storage and retrieval vehicles, forklifts up to , b capacity (fuel and/or electric driven) to move, stack and un-stack, load and unload. Use hand and power tools. Perform material handling duties, including the use of tools and other equipment, in a safe manner, utilize safety practices and procedures, and complying with established safety rules and regulation. As Security Guard, I observe and report anything out the ordinary; Answer phone calls; log in and out visitors; check identification, bags, equipment; protect client, assets, property and employees within the guidelines and post orders. Ensure all vehicles and personnel entering the compound are authorized. Prior to vehicles entering the compound, I ensure the license, tag, and other pertinent information is correct. Check vendors and delivery authorizations, and direct to the appropriate location to on or off load equipment and/or material. Issue badges/passes to any personnel that are not employees (visitors/guest, etc.). Performed a variety of duties concerned with protecting the buildings and property, including equipment and material. I was involved in controlling access to the building by employees and visitors. Other critical responsibilities included protecting and preventing loss of materials or processes that are important to the national defense. Ensure only authorized personnel and vehicles enter the compound and that only authorized material and equipment are allowed to be removed from the compound. Challenge all personnel, including those operating vehicles, for proper identification when entering the compound.
