5. Summary : The project deals with the study on the frequency of partial Rh D variants found in western Indian population . The objectives of the study were: (i) to determine the incidence of Partial RhD variants in western Indian population and (ii) to determine the efficacy of commercial anti-D antisera to identify partial RhD variants.

 

 

1. Project Title : Cloning of E.coli pyrophosphatase gene.


2. Organization : Madras Biotech, TamilNadu.

4. Summary : The aim of the project was to clone E.coli pyrophosphatase gene and transform it into E.coli to produce recombinant colonies. the main objective was to learn the technique of gene cloning.

 

Technical Proficiency:

 

1. Molecular Biology: Plasmid DNA isolation,, PCR(Polymerase Chain Reaction), plasmid based cloning,restriction digestion and ligation (recombinant DNA technology), transformation (heat shock) in E.coli. and agarose gel electrophoresis.

 

1. Cell Culture: Subculturing in PTC and ATC and trypsinization,


2. Immunological Techniques: ELISA and Immunodiffusion.

 

1. Serology: ABO blood grouping, Rh blood grouping and Rh genotyping.
