  • Product design and brand development from concept, fabric and trim selection, color boards, sourcing, pricing, sample creation and call sheets, to follow up and quality control with the mill/manufacturers at international locations.  Paid internship, working directly with Group Leader of DKNY, Aria, Liz Claiborne, Hanes, Cuddl Duds divisions, and Head Designer of Bees and Jam childrens sleepwear.

    • Designed line of high-end wraps for JonValdi Couture, New York City.

    • Designed and constructed fully lined, silk brocade and satin Flower Girl dresses for Black Tie wedding.

    • Special event dress design and construction.

    • Wedding dress couture alterations, beading and preparation services.

    • Custom, flat pattern re-design service for one-of-a-kind, custom-fitted garments.

    • Bride’s and Bridesmaids’ stylist providing pre-wedding event preparation and services during photo shoots.

    • Contract artist for LimitedToo! (now Tween Brands).  Created giant flowers for catalogue photo shoot.

    • Freelance design for Anchor Hocking Corporation and Walmart.  Created coordinating hard and soft good houseware items. 

    • Commissioned by American Electric Power to design and manufacture personalized embroidered ‘Crests’ on silk banners; one each the for retiring C.E.O. and the acting Vice President of the Coal Division.

    • Logo design for Fairfield Medical Center Links to Life philanthropic golf tournament.

    • Constructed “doll” house (to hold two adult ballerinas) and the Nutcracker head/mask for two Ohio ballet company productions of The Nutcracker.

    • Submitted the winning designs for the interior and exterior of first “Big Ten Shop”, Ohio Union, The Ohio State University. 


     


     


    Sewing Related Leadership/Instruction                                                                                                



    • Sewing Seminar instructor.  Presented lessons throughout Ohio in Couture techniques, textile/fiber/weave identification, appropriate-for-project fabric selection, fit, closure techniques.  Drafted lesson plans, created handouts, overhead displays, visual aids, samples.

    • Sewing judge. Open Class State Fair divisions, county and state level -H, state level MIWW.  Evaluate style, fit, design, proportion, construction, knowledge, interview, presentation, modeling. 

    • Thrice state and national winner in MIWW.  Entry photo published in Vogue Patterns Magazine.

    State Director, Ohio Make It With Wool                                                                                                      -



    • Organized, coordinated and ran program in its entirety. Entries increased % in three years of leadership.  Restyled and recommended technical improvements to state-winning entries, resulting in a National st Place winner every year.  Provided all marketing, scheduling, recruitment; organized and scripted runway show and created music playlists; performed fiber testing; secured judges, audio equipment and lighting, meals, tour opportunities and discounts, sponsorship and awards; made national travel arrangements and acted as chaperone; secured venue rental, on-site security and parking.  Reported to Ohio Wool Producers Council.  On National level, coordinated runway show, assisted with securing judges and judge’s orientation and standards.


     


     


    Visual Management, Lazarus (Federated) Department Store (now Macy’s)                   /



    • Coordinated and installed window and interior displays, signage, mannequins and other display areas.  Monitored and maintained store visual and licensing standards, assisted store associates with department organization, assembled and led storewide meetings for seasonal and forecast updates.  Recruited to return with a promotion.
