Ambroxol influence on the pH level was measured in rats treated with mg/kg (dissolved in injection water, sc., daily) during weeks period. Urine was collected once in every hrs and measured with a digital pH meter. The influence of Benincasa hispida fruit extract on the urine and serum biochemistry and determined by urinalysis and serum analysis. The blood was collected from the animal after euthanasia by puncturing the left ventricle.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nThe dynamics of pH change was measured in rats treated with mg/kg/h of ambroxol. Control received ml of injection water sc. The urine pH decrease up to . ± . vs. . ± . mg/dl in the control (P < .). The serum uric acid level increased up to . ± . vs. . ± . mg/dl (P < .). The serum level of creatinine also increased to . ± . vs. . ± . mg/dl (P < .). The level of oxalate in urine increased to . ± . vs. . ± . mg/dl (P < .) in the group treated with ambroxol.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nAmbroxol withdrawal resulted in sequential urine pH decrease. days after interruption of ambroxol therapy pH nearly reached the starting value.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nAll the values are represented with means ± SEM. The student t-test was used to compare the means, P < . was considered as significant. Comparisons are made between different parameters using one – way ANOVA to identify any differences.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nIn conclusion the dose of mg/kg of aqueous and methanolic extract of Benincasa hispida was found effective in the treatment of nephroliths.
