* Managed care--Deal with open and closed formularies, screen out patients who are risk for drug interactions due to managed care interchanges.
* Drug utility review (DUR)--Review patient profiles and check for drug interactions, age and correct dosage; contact physicians to resolve related issues.
* Quality Control--Contact physicians to resolve illegible, unclear and incorrectly completed prescriptions, including strength, dosage, form, and incorrectly prescribed or contraindicated drugs); Contact patients when necessary to verify diabetic or other time-sensitive supplies and address patient concerns.
* Computer systems--Operate pharmacy applications such as Renlar, Commodore, PDX, and similar customized Windows-based programs.
* Insurance claims--Knowledgeable in most Third-Party insurance and billing procedures.
