As an Operations & Maintenance Technician Coater I, you will learn and assist with performing sand blasting and coating activities, corrosion control, and asset protection located at the Weymouth Water Treatment Facility. You will also support the coating needs of other water treatment facilities and conveyance and distribution pipeline substructures, including various projects and shutdowns throughout Metropolitan’s service area.


In this position you will perform hand and mechanical surface preparation to various substrates in accordance with industry standards; apply specialized protective coating to meet specific service conditions (including mortar lining application); perform routine maintenance on all assigned equipment; assure all documentation is complete and in compliance with mandatory rule and regulations dictating this type of activity; and safety related training.

Schedule: 4/10; Monday - Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: High school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency in addition to minimal experience with hand tools and power tools associated with industrial coating applications.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
