An Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Technician I develops proficiency and assists journey-level technicians with a wide variety of I&C tasks. These tasks include the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic equipment such as pressure transducers, flowmeters, position transmitters, level sensors, motor-operated valves, power supplies, workstation displays, signal indicators, wireless data links, local-area network distribution, wide-area network data terminals, voice-over-IP telephone systems, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, programmable logic controllers, public address systems, audio-visual presentation systems, safety monitoring and alarm annunciation equipment, security surveillance systems, and energy management devices.
The I&C Technician I also assists and performs the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of regulatory instrumentation including turbidimeters, chlorine analyzers, ammonia analyzers, particle counters, pH analyzers, temperature sensors, ozone residual/concentration analyzers, dissolved oxygen analyzers, conductivity probes, and other water-constituent monitoring systems. The tasks are carried out both in a treatment plant environment and in District distribution facilities throughout the Orange County Service Area.
Schedule: 4/10, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM PST

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate and completion of 15 semester units in electronics from an accredited college, university, vocational, or military school
