As a Principal Resource Specialist focusing on rates, charges and financial planning you will maintain, operate and update the Metropolitan Water District's financial and water rate models. In this role you will be able to demonstrate your high level of proficiency modeling using Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic. You will also conduct complex financial analyses to provide sound financial projections on potential impacts to Metropolitan in support of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer.
Your ability to effectively organize, analyze, model, and clearly communicate financial information is crucial to success in this position.

Schedule: 44/36, Monday through Friday /Every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other Friday. Start times are no earlier than 6 am and end times are no later than 6 pm.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, majoring in engineering, business administration, economics, finance, environmental sciences, urban planning, geology, geography, hydrology or related field and ten years of related progressively responsible experience in policy development, resource negotiations, development and implementation of solutions to complex problems, or managing large and moderately complex projects, of which two years must have been at the supervisory or project management level; or a master’s degree from an accredited college or university majoring in engineering, business administration, economics, finance, environmental sciences, urban planning, geology, geography, hydrology or related field and eight years of related progressively responsible experience in policy development, resource negotiations, development and implementation of solutions to complex problems , or managing large and moderately complex projects, of which two years must have been at the supervisory or project management level.
Relevant Experience is defined as: combination of work experience with resource planning, financial budget and planning, financial/technical analysis and modeling, and project management.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
