We manufacture a wide range of specialty treatments for controlling water chemistry in heating, cooling, process, and power generating systems. We are currently looking for a Public Water Systems Coordinator for our Environmental Group (EG) Compliance Team located in Newton, MA. This will be a hybrid position. Barclay’s Environmental Group was established to enable clients to minimize the risks associated with Legionella bacteria and other waterborne pathogens in their facilities. Most diagnosed cases of Legionnaires’ disease have been linked to building water systems. Supplemental disinfection improves the quality of building water systems and minimizes the proliferation of biofilms that promote the growth of harmful waterborne pathogens, including Legionella bacteria. Barclay’s iChlor® permits the continuous supplemental disinfection of drinking water supplies.
The successful individual will provide technical support and administrative assistance to their management and the sales/service team to the Public Water Systems Director, Regulatory & Compliance Director, Vice President Environmental Group, sales/service team and Barclay Water Management’s customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Assist Public Water Systems Director in Public Water System approval process including interacting and coordinating, both virtually and in person, with multiple stakeholders such as: other Barclay departments, Customers, Regulatory Agencies, Licensed Professional Engineers, contractors, and Licensed Water Operators.
- Assist Regulatory and Compliance Director for Public Water System compliance monitoring by obtaining quotes from laboratories, scheduling courier pick-ups, and shipping sampling supplies.
- Routinely monitor the status of compliance projects with third-party laboratories.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of drinking water reports to State and Federal regulatory agencies.
- Assist in training Sales team members.
- Review and enter both laboratory and field monitoring data, and process compliance reports.
- Assist Environmental Group Compliance Team with maintaining Public Water System regulatory requirements.
- Travel to customer sites for Public Water System-related purposes including Sanitary Surveys, sample site walkthroughs, onsite training, state agency inspections.
- Provide guidance to Sales Team focusing on Public Water System compliance.
- Attend Public Water System topics at professional conferences and webinars.
- Collaborate on Public Water System promotional campaigns with the support of our Marketing Department, including preparing presentations and blog posts.
- Hold or be willing to obtain a drinking water operating license within 1 year of employment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- S. in Science or Engineering (biology or chemistry) or B.A. in Environmental Sciences is preferred.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines is required.
- Strong MS Office skills are required.
- Educational background and/or prior professional experience related to municipal drinking water systems, EPA Safe Drinking Water Act, waterborne pathogens such as Legionella bacteria is preferred.
- One to two years prior of work experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time via car, train, or airplane. Applicants must have access to their own vehicle for transportation. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is generally sedentary. No special demands are required to perform the work other than the ability to operate a keyboard accurately.
