As an Assistant Engineer II on the Substructures Team, you will assist with the review of external improvement projects to assess for impacts to Metropolitan’s facilities and rights-of-way. You will also assist with the review of internal requests which may require utility and plan reviews, research, and operational field support.
You will assist senior staff to partner with multi-disciplinary internal teams to prepare a comprehensive written assessment containing Metropolitan’s comments, concerns, and requirements in response to the proposed project. Our Assistant Engineer II will support senior staff with conducting meetings, negotiating and resolving conflicts with project proponents on issues that may arise. Projects impacting Metropolitan's facilities and rights-of-way may require assisting in performing field inspections for quality assurance and quality control.
Schedule: 9/80 Monday through Friday with every other Friday off

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Assistant Engineer I level.
Relevant Experience is defined as: a combination of experience in engineering experience reviewing improvement plans AND/OR construction equipment AND/OR construction means and methods; project management AND/OR construction inspection.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
