Electrician II
Maintain, install, and repair equipment, electrical systems and facility electrical systems. Supply electrical support required to keep all departments running at a high level of efficiency, striving for 100% efficiency.
Day-to-Day Role:
- Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements
- Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards
- Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Utilize electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and temperature and pressure gauges
- Perform analog and digital circuit design by utilizing microprocessor hardware and software configurations
- Use Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) including basic and ladder logic to read/write basic wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints in order to diagnosis problems
- Draw electrical schematics
- Understand precedence relationships (e.g. sequence of events)
- Maintain and utilize maintenance systems for work orders, breakdown reporting and track machine modifications.
- Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment
- Diagnose and repair complex machine and electrical and electronic problems including non-routine electrical issues such as power quality
- Assemble component electrical parts per specifications and bench testing before installation
- Read and thoroughly understand electrical schematics and apply that understanding to real time systems
- Update schematic drawings to incorporate changes in equipment as needed
- Plan layout of wiring and install conduit, wiring and ancillary electrical equipment
- Install power supply wiring and conduit and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Completes root cause analysis and recommends solutions
- Participate in small process improvement teams
- Train other electricians
- Use SAP for Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Work Order Process
Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
- Five (5) years of experience in diagnosing and repairing electrical equipment or machinery, or comparable experience with trade school or training
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to read/write wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints and analytical diagnosis of problems
- Ability to program Programmable Logic Controllers using basic and ladder logic
- Thorough understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Advanced knowledge of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and temperature and pressure gauges
- Advanced knowledge of industrial controls and instrumentation
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic problems including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and algebra
- Familiar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versa
- Familiar with and ability to convert units (imperial to SI, etc.)
- Must have an understanding of microprocessor hardware and software configurations and be able to perform basic analog and digital circuit design
- Know how to use Multi-meter, scope, basic hand tools, and portable power tools
- Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial truck (PIT) license
- Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior experience using software for Preventive Maintenance (PM) and work orders, SAP
- Associates Degree in Electronics Technology
- Apprenticeship training or equivalent electrical trade school
- Prior PIT experience

- Plan layout of wiring and install conduit, wiring and ancillary electrical equipment

- Lead process improvement initiatives and/or cross functional team projects
- Serve as a technical resource for less experienced Electricians and maintenance staff
- Apply advanced, complex troubleshooting
- May analyze complex control systems to resolve in-depth software/ hardware and configuration problems
- Train other Electricians
- Use SAP for Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Work Order Process
Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
- Seven (7) years of experience in diagnosing and repairing electrical equipment or machinery, or comparable experience with trade school or training
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to read, write, interpret and draw wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints and analytical diagnosis of problems
- Understanding of electrical laws and principals (KVL, Ohm’s Law, Power Law, etc.)
- Thorough understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Expert knowledge of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and temperature and pressure gauges
- Advanced knowledge of industrial controls and instrumentation
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot complex problems
- Ability to make changes to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) using advanced ladder logic, read/write wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints, and analytical diagnosis of problems
- Ability to originate instruction documents that can be used by other technicians to perform preventive maintenance or verify electrical system operation.
- Math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and algebra
- Familiar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versa
- Familiar with and ability to convert units (imperial to SI, etc.)
- Must have an understanding of microprocessor hardware and software configurations and be able to perform complex analog and digital circuit design
