The Procurement COE Director will oversee the strategic direction, optimization, and project management of the organization’s procurement functions. This position will lead a cross-functional team, implementing best practices, and ensuring the alignment of procurement activities with overall business objectives. Dart is a great place to work. This new role was put in place as part of the Procurement transformation and will play a big role in the success of the overall Dart transformation. As such you will have frequent exposure to the Executive Leadership Team which gives this role great visibility.
Day-to-Day Role
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Procurement COE/PMO in alignment with the organization’s goals
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within procurement operations
- Establishing a Project Management Office (PMO) for various transformation efforts
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of procurement processes.
- Develop and enforce procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and ethical standard
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies related to procurement activities.
- Evaluate, select, and implement procurement technologies to enhance efficiency and automation
- Develop and implement strategies for effective supplier relationship management.
- Communicate procurement strategies, project statuses, and outcomes to key stakeholders
Core Skills and Qualifications
The ideal Procurement Director candidate must possess all of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of Procurement experience, with at least 5 years of experience leading people
- Experience in sourcing both Indirect and direct materials and services
- In-depth knowledge of Procurement best practices
- Must have strong stakeholder relationship skills and a history of advancing Procurement best practices throughout an organization
- Consistently demonstrated understanding and management of procurement and contracting processes
- Experience with and understanding of Change Management practices
- Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal and external customers
- Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate
- Experience utilizing business sense and creativity to develop new ideas and solutions
- Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities
- Experience streamlining processes, integrating, and associating pieces of information gathered from multiple sources to apply to projects
