The Water Quality Technician II position will support the Pure Water Southern California Demonstration Facility located at the Joint Water Pollution Control Plant in Carson, CA and requires operational and analytical skills to assist in facility operations, monitoring, maintenance, and improvements. This position will assist with data gathering and equipment testing to ensure continuous operation of water quality demonstration and pilot plants.
As the Water Quality Technician II, you will also assist in the development of operating and maintenance plans, assist with conducting water quality sampling, analyses, and data reporting to support applied research studies. You will review operations and maintenance manuals, and plant operational procedures; learn unit process operations and performance monitoring; gain familiarity with water quality analyzers and process logic; understand target operating conditions and response; monitor chemical inventory and assist with ordering and receiving.
Your ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) clearly, work effectively in a team, and use supporting applications (calculations, spreadsheets, etc.) will be important in this role. This position will also assist with emergency response, including on-call support during off-work hours.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: High school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency and four years of relevant experience; or two years experience as a MWD Water Quality Technician I.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
