As the Innovation Program Manager in the Sustainability, Resilience, and Innovation Office, you will identify emerging technologies, innovation and practices that support Metropolitan’s goal of providing water supply reliability to Southern California.
In this role you will be the Program Manager for Metropolitan’s Innovation Program and will be responsible for planning and managing activities to identify new technologies, business opportunities, and strategic partnerships that will benefit Metropolitan, and develop guidelines, onboarding strategies, workflow, and metrics to support, advance and demonstrate the value of those opportunities.
Other responsibilities include: developing, coordinating, and implementing a range of innovation opportunities and programs; preparing short and long-range plans based on organizational challenges, defining objectives that align with the strategic initiatives, and prepare a forecast of financial needs and related budget; participating and arranging meetings with managers and staff to assess needs and introduce technologies and innovation opportunities; analyzing legislations and governmental policies, rules and regulations; and leading the Employee Innovation Council and supporting subcommittees in the development of Metropolitan’s innovation program.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and twelve years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, of which two years must have been in a project management, supervisory, or lead position; or an advanced degree (i.e., master’s or doctorate) from an accredited college or university and ten years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, of which two years must have been in a project management, supervisory, or lead position.
Relevant Experience is defined as: employing organizational improvements and efficiencies and project management.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
• Certification in project management [e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP)].
• Experience in identifying and driving environmentally sustainable solutions.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s):
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
