As the Manager of Bay-Delta Science and Regulatory Strategy, you will be responsible for providing high-level policy development and recommendations into the activities and programs involving General Manager strategic priorities. In this role you will develop and manage complex science, regulatory and watershed-wide programs and partnerships; provide strategic policy oversight on science and regulatory programs; advise on recommended improvements to Bay-Delta; manage multi-disciplinary Bay-Delta staff including cross-matrix organizational partnerships within MWD; and collaboratively engage with external resource agencies and interests.
Experience in water resource management within a natural environment (e.g., estuarine, coastal, watersheds) and knowledge in Bay-Delta (or similar) operations/policy/science will be instrumental for this strategic leadership role as you implement innovations and improve business processes.
This position will be located either in Los Angeles or Sacramento.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and fourteen years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, of which six years must have been in a management or supervisory position; or an advanced degree from an accredited college or university and twelve years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, of which six years must have been in a management or supervisory position.
Relevant Experience is defined as: a combination of experience in operations and environmental regulations relating to Bay-Delta or similar environments; and with science programs and policies relating to Bay-Delta or similar environments.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications, licensing, and registrations:
License(s):
Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
