As an Associate Engineer with the Bay Delta Initiatives Group, you will be responsible for leading and conducting technical (hydrological) modeling and analysis related to water supply planning (operations and long-term) associated with the Bay-Delta region and Metropolitan’s State Water Project supply.
Under the direction of senior staff, you will perform technical analyses and provide recommendations to support planning, regulatory decision-making, design, construction infrastructure reliability and/or operational issues (using Calsim); prepare key technical documents, reports, and prepares and make presentations; perform and lead planning, coordinating, conducting and monitoring tests, studies investigations; and plan and coordinate project tasks within the area of your responsibility including monitoring scope, quality, budget and schedule.
Additionally, you will utilize key modeling software (such as Calsim) and other tools to provide scenario planning and outcome analysis. This position is critical for real-time operations decisions, policy implications and long-term planning purposes.
This position will be located either in Los Angeles or Sacramento.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Assistant Engineer II level; OR a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience which must have been at the Assistant Engineer II level.
A degree (Bachelors or Masters) in a related field is defined as Engineering
Relevant Experience is defined as: experience conducting technical hydrological modeling and analysis related to water supply planning and/or operations.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
