The Department of Security provides a safe and secure environment for those that work and/or use the NYCT system. In particular, the Eagle Team provides security for our NYC Transit Bus system which operates 6,000 buses that carries 2.75 million people each day throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
The Department of Security is looking for talented and ambitious individuals to join the Eagle Team which ensure the security and safety of millions of New Yorkers each day. The selected Special Inspectors will perform various security functions including carrying out fare enforcement by the way of issuing of summonses, assisting in the prevention and detection of vandalism, prevention of graffiti, assist in the development and implementation of strategies to combat both vandalism and fare evasion and contribute to the investigations of property crimes.
The successful candidate will have at least two years of full-time experience as an investigator, of which one year must have been as an investigator in the field or a satisfactory equivalent of the combined education and experience requirements. Additional desired skills include: knowledge and experience relating to the enforcement of fare evasion, and the issuance of summonses; possession of a valid New York State Guard License; and five years of security experience preferably within the Military.
